When did you first start using Business Studio Innovators?

Sands Building has been working with Business Studio Innovators for the past three years.

With that timeline in mind, take me back to life before Business Studio Innovators — who were you using instead?

Before making the move, Sands Building had been with the same accountant for around 20 years. When that business was sold, the relationship changed — the personal connection disappeared and it started to feel like they were just a number. 

How did you find out about Business Studio Innovators?

The team had done some building work for Justine personally and found that experience really positive. It gave us a real sense of who she was and how she operated.

When you started working with Business Studio Innovators, what made you feel you had made the right decision?

The difference was immediately clear. With the previous accountant, there was little contact throughout the year — only at year-end. Business Studio Innovators took a completely different approach. Justine checks in regularly, gives calls throughout the year, and steers the business in the right direction as things come up. Keeping an eye on the books means there are no nasty surprises at the end of year. That was something we hadn’t experienced before.

What is Business Studio Innovators doing for you now?

Business Studio Innovators currently handles the accountancy for two businesses within the Sands Building group, providing consistent support and oversight across both.

How would you explain to a friend the job that Business Studio Innovators do for you?

The thing that stands out most is the personal check-ins — it makes a genuine difference knowing someone is keeping an eye on things and reaching out proactively. The regular newsletter keeps us informed on relevant issues and changes, which is something we hadn't experienced with previous advisors. It’s important to have an accountant who is present throughout the year, not just at year-end.
